Inspired by the arches of the Penobscott American Indians who lived along the river of the same name in the state of Maine in the 17th century. However, the history of this bow dates back to 1500. This kind of bow was used successfully and skillfully in the fight against the Vikings. This design was made in order to have greater range and precision than the European muskets they fought against.
This amazing bow was one of the most versatile bows ever made and one of the first complex designs.
It looks like a Viking hat, hence the name, the Varangians were the Imperial Byzantine Guard composed of Vikings.
